Bespoke Dementia care plans to give you choice and control
The right support, at the right time and in the right place, is especially important for people with dementia, to give them choice and control over the decisions that affect them. The approach we use at Olive Garden Home & Health Care is to discuss and implement a bespoke, collaborative Dementia Care Plan for each of our clients. This planning aims to take account of the special needs, preferences, history and sensitivities of each person we provide social care to. In addition, we work with family members, GPs, dementia consultants and other health professionals to develop flexible plans for each individual.
We understand that it is essential that we engage with our dementia clients at every visit in order to develop a meaningful relationship and gain their trust so that we can deliver the required quality of care to them. We never rush. Our carers take their time to make sure that people living with dementia are treated with dignity and respect at all times so that their care needs are met in full.
Areas we cover when developing a Dementia Care Plan include:
- A full discussion on establishing the best way to support the relationship.
- Find out as much as possible about the person’s life story.
- Gain trust by engaging in conversation at the start of every call.

- Engage in creative activities, including art, music, singing and hobbies.
- Devise nutritious meals, based on individual preferences to encourage healthy eating as well as monitoring fluid intake to prevent dehydration.
